FLORALNOTES.COM

OK… So I’m trolling for wedding ideas to store in the infamous VOW RENEWAL folder, when I came across this… FloralNotes.com This has got to be the coolest recycling concept ever for flowers after the wedding.

What is Happening to the Whales???

I saw this story and it just makes me more determined than ever to do what I can to help things get better. We need to make changes now people. Let’s get global with these efforts and lets do it sooner rather than later…

By Jeremy Hsu

Mass death among baby right whales has experts scrambling tofigure out the puzzle behind the largest great whale die-off on record.

Observers have found 308 dead whales in the waters around Peninsula Valdes along Argentina’s Patagonian Coast since 2005. Almost 90 percent of those deaths represent whale calves less than 3 months old, and the calf deaths make up almost a third of all right whale calf sightings in the last five years.

Green Curtain Greenwall by Kyocera by Gavin Walsh

Well as you can see I’m not just looking for all things green, but all things innovative and different. Well this isn’t new, just a new take on its use. I’m thinking of somehow incorporating a combination of a greenwall of the trellis and concrete biowall design.

Check out this piece by Gavin Walsh on a green curtain created by Kyocera.

Kyocera – a Japanese company – took living walls and tried to maximize their energy and cost savings through a Green Curtain. It’s a stellar idea that involves planting vines on what looks to be similar to a massive chain link fence.

Vertical Farming the Better Hydro Way to Grow

Now this is something I’m not unfamiliar with. VERTICAL FARMING…

They’ve been growing in various ways using vertical farming setups for years. I’ve been considering this growing technique for the new indoor coop business. We’ll be starting with the basic garden veggies and working our way up. The idea is to be in a position to create the ability for us to sustain our own communities produce needs. A set up like this would be perfect. Been researching for years, but seeing this video lets me know that we’re on the right track with how things are being designed. So excited indeed.

The Living Wall in London

How cool is this? Anthropologie’s newest store in London is using the “go-green” theme on a vertical level. Literally!

Covered in over 14 species of over 18,000 plants, this 1,500 square foot ‘Living Wall’ lends an “oasis of greenery” in the middle of London’s West End. Fed by a hidden hydroponics system behind the wall, the plant receives light provided through skylights. Watch the video clip below as Hayley Platt reports.

That is so cool. I think I’m going to have to add a couple of these inside the new house. I knew I wanted to have living plants through-out the house for filtration, but that is a very cool idea.

The Community Organic Co-op Organization

Thank you for stopping by The Community Organic Co-op Organization. This was just something I took a beautiful Sunday afternoon to create. Why? I felt led to do something, regardless of how minute, in an effort to even just get people thinking about living life a little more green. The site will feature articles, blogs, projects, programs, and more, related to all things green and moving toward a life of living off the grid and self sustainable. We need to move towards positive changes now. It only takes one or two to begin a movement. If you like the idea of spending less to spending zero on your electric, fruits & veggies, and possibly even making money in the process, then join me in my journey to help my community “Get ‘Er Green!”

Grow Your Own Green Tea

Well it’s the beginning of a new year. This is the time that we are going full steam ahead with our new New Year’s Resolutions. More times than not, that includes wanting to eat right, exercise, and watch your weight. Well I can fully attest to the value of adding green tea to your diet. Though I was not trying to lose weight, rather increase my antioxidant intake, I began noticing a leaner me. I didn’t do anything differently, except add one cup of green tea to my daily shot of Mona Vie and I’m a happy camper. The cool thing is I never knew they had kits to teach you how to grow your own green tea. So if you drink tons of green tea like me and would rather grow your own…Click Here!
